Geometric Heart

Just a short posting to share this darling hanging geometric heart. I added the overlays myself, which I made in ECAL2 (software for my Sizzix Eclips cutting machine) by tracing each facet from the pattern just inside the lines. I left the cut facets on the cutting mat after cutting, inking each one and putting it back so that when I put them on the background I would know where they went. I added all of the overlays prior to assembling the heart, which is cut in only three pieces!
I used some seam binding for the handle, and added dried flowers for this sweet hanging heart.

The basic pattern for this geometric heart came from SVG Cuts' All My Love SVG Kit. It's so easy to make. It measures approximately 4.5" tall and 5.5" wide.

This is really fun to put together. I'm not one for many of the Valentine's Day pink/red items, but, as you can see, changing up the paper can give it a new fun look.

Heirloom Quilt Box

This beautiful quilt box is from the Wildflower Saloon SVG Kit (SVG Cuts). The top is not just flat, but has a pillow effect, and is quite striking.

This is the first one I made.

Most are digital papers, and there are a couple of Graphic 45 papers in there as well.
The bands around the side were blotted with some metallic silver and green Color Bursts paints. It has a really nice shimmer.
The size of this large box is 11.5" square, and 4" tall.
I made a second one with some cute paper from Samatha Walker, called Kokeshi. I also decreased this one to 60% of the original.
This cute mini red rik-rak trim on the sides was some that was my grandma's. So, it must be around 70 years old. She was a real seamstress, and I have an entire box of old trims, seam bindings and rik-raks that were about 10 cents a package at the time. It makes this one pretty special to me.
The following photo shows you the comparison of the two sizes of the quilt box. The dimensions of the small quilt box are just shy of 7" square by 2-3/8" tall.
This particular cut file is a bit harder to make to a smaller size, so I probably wouldn't to it again. But, it is a cute size.

Time to snuggle up with a quilt!

Vintage TV Box Card

Can't tell you how much I love this darling cut file from the All My Love SVG Kit from SVG Cuts. I've made at least five, and have requests from friends for their birthdays later this year.
If you aren't familiar, box cards appear 3D, but they fold flat for mailing. There is no solid bottom.

The sentiment is printed on the back.
The little antenna is made from silver metallic card stock.
And, here's an alternate card made for Valentine's Day with red cardstock, both matte and metallic; again with the silver antenna.

Nothing like an old photo inserted to bring up the nostalgia.

Enjoying the Oldies!
