Floral Any-Occasion Card

This beautiful card was designed by Sandra Createinspain. This is a free svg pattern. You can find her on YouTube and Instagram (createinspain), as well as Facebook (that I know of). Her YouTube channel has tutorials, as well as links to the cut files. This particular cut file was made with a friend of hers, so there is no tutorial. But, it is easy enough to put it together using her photo.  She also posts YouTube tutorials of tips and tricks regarding cutting machine software, such as eCal, SCAL and Create software.

Sandra's initial cut folder includes a sentiment for Mother's Day, which is very appropriate for this card. I needed a sympathy card, and it fit perfectly for that as well. There are so many occasions this would be good for.
Lastly, there are a lot of pieces on this card, so I made a second ring to give it a bit more sturdiness, and added a second panel to the back with my sentiment. This way the card is stronger for standing it up as well. In a subsequent convo with Sandra, she also recommends a second ring layer for strength.
Thanks to Sandra for this beautiful project.

Valentine's Treats for my Loves

Here are some darling treat boxes/wraps that I made for my grandson's, daughter and son-in-law.

These first ones were made from by My Scrap Chick. I got it on a free day, but it's on sale right now for only a dollar. This is not a box, but a candy wrap. It is held closed with a belly band.

I cut the Be My Valentine Heart using print-2-cut. The arrows and red heart are done with glitter. I also did the print-2-cut on the back of cupid's wings, and wrote a little note to each of my grandboys.
Here you can see how it wraps.

This other one is a freebie from svgcuts.com. It's a small chocolate box, with an oval in the top and acetate inserted.

This is so easy. I sized it up just a smidge so the little See's candy bar would fit inside. The panel is not part of the pattern. I made that myself. Also, if you cut it at its original size, you can get two boxes on a piece of 12"x12" cardstock. All patterned paper was printed by me out of digital paper stash.

Happy Valentine's Day, Sweet Boys

Valentine's 2023

Happy Valentine's Day!
It's time to share one of this years' Valentine projects.

This 3D heart box comes from Simply Crafty SVGs, and is made for the eCal, SCAL and Create FB page challenge. The challenge was by Simply Crafty SVGs, and we were asked to use files from that site. I made a couple of alterations, but it's very close to the original file.

The back is hinged, and I used some glitter paper for the hinge element.

It's a really strong box. The top is totally closed in. And, it shuts really nicely as well.
The box stands 4.75" tall and 5.25" wide.
I used digital paper (printed it myself) from Gennifer Bursett's Indian Summer. The flower is from elements from the same digi pack.

Happy Groundhog Birthday, Keith!

Thought I'd share the crafting spotlight today to celebrate Keith's (my husband) birthday. He's a woodworker, ukulele builder, and has built over 60 ukes, as well as some gorgeous boxes and block sets. He really has a talent, and I thought I'd post a few photos of his work.

Keith's ukes are built from the ground up, from making the molds for the outer edges, bending the wood, hand carving each neck, all the way to French polishing the finished instrument.

For a little treat, you can listen to our good friend, Fred Benedetti, playing his Keith Maurer uke in a performance in Pacific Beach back in 2014.

He also makes these wooden boxes and block sets. The design is totally his, with hand-carved handles and using various hard woods. They have all gone to family members and friends.

Wishing this man a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday, Keith!
